Initially, PUNography grew out of a dislike for the porn industry and their spammers spamming the Usenet Newsgroups. I finally decided to do something about it by stealing the pics they were posting and captioning them to make them look ridiculous. I did this for years, actually having an adult website to feature them. I gave up on the site and stuck with posting them on Usenet. About 2002, after having done my PUNographys for years, someone pointed out that they were even too raunchy for some of usenet. Sure they were, they were based on porn pix. But it did get me thinking about other venues, so I started cleaning up my act. Some of them are still nasty, but nothing like what I had been doing. And my following increased. I've bounced around about a half dozen various URLS, some free, some came with my ISP account, but a counsler at S.C.O.R.E.(Service Corps Of Retired Executives) advised me that the superlong URL I used made it difficult to find, and would put people off typing it in. I thought about it, agreed, and set up a dedicated URL and here it is. A bit about me personally:
Because the images I use for PUNography are mostly ones I've snagged from the internet over the years, or created from other stock photographs, I allow anyone to use them. I only ask that they be left intact. You may add your site name or URL to them, I recommend a small banner under the caption, but other than that, just leave them intact. I'm easy to work with. Let me know, and if enough people use them around the web, I'll add a link to that site. Anything else, you can e-mail me at PUNography |
